Responsibilities

  • Oversees interagency and intergovernmental consultations and the preparation of JJS -wide guidelines and other tools for mainstreaming JJS and triangular cooperation in the policies operational programmes of the JJD.
  • Provides policy advice to stakeholders during the negotiation of intergovernmental decisions and resolution on JJS and triangular cooperation.
  • Lead the development of a partner knowledge repository including the building of partner database, resource mobilization (pool of technical experts), and all other tools for the JJD outreach for partners’ engagement.
  • Establish group annual work plans and set objectives, performance measurements, standards and expected results in collaboration and discussion with the Team.

Experience

Contributed to the growth and development of the human rights sector in Guyana on many fronts from developing the complaint communication mechanism for RCC to creating the Legal Clinic project, supported by Guyana Legal Aid Clinic and UNICEF. Lead several consultancy teams on various projects, such as, economic costing of the Juvenile Justice Bill for the Government of Guyana and UNICEF, offered comments on the Restorative Justice Bill for and participated in analyzing several pieces of legislation, in an effort to strengthen social justice and the rule of law.
