Training commenced on the 30th September, 2019 @9am with approximately fifteen participants at the Sophia Location.
The training was in the form of a ‘three hour’ presentation covering the following areas:
- Which Act (s) have been repealed as it relates to Juvenile Offenders?
- What happens if they are pending matters under the Training Schools Act for wandering, begging and like offences against a juvenile?
- What happens if they are pending matters under the Juvenile Offenders Act, Cap. 10:03 against a person who was a child or
- What happens if they are pending charges for the offence of escape from school under the Education Act against a child or juvenile as defined by this Act?
- What happens if they are Offences committed before the coming into force of this Act but for which no proceedings had commenced?
- Where should a juvenile be sent if found guilty of an offence?
- In which circumstances should a juvenile be diverted?
- What is the aim of the Juvenile Justice Act 2018?
